Religious Education
"Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." Mk 10:14 NAB
While it is the primary obligation of Christian parents to provide for the spiritual and catechetical (religious education and faith formation) needs of their children, the faith community also has a duty to assist and empower parents to this end. We at Resurrection are pleased to offer programs to educate and form our youth in the Catholic faith in cooperation with their families.
Religious education classes are offered on Wednesday evenings througout the traditional academic year at Resurrection School, adjacent to the church. Grades 1-8 are offered at either 4:45-6:00 PM or 6:30-7:45 PM; Kindergarten is offered at the early session only. A home schooling option is also available. Over 360 children are enrolled in the program.
Vacation bible school is a popular summer program lasting from 9:00 a.m. until noon, Monday through Friday, for one week in July. Preschoolers through fifth graders are eligible to participate, and anyone from sixth grade to senior citizens are welcome to volunteer to help with the many facets of the program. It is truly an opportunity for children, adolescents, and families to pray, play, and praise together!
