Adult Faith Formation

Ongoing adult faith formation is essential to each individual, and Resurrection offers many opportunities for growth in faith. One of the primary sources of adult faith is discussion and action upon the homilies of each Sunday Mass. The Sunday Bulletin offers a “Question of the Week” by which either individuals or the family together can make the readings practical and the homily applicable to daily life.

Other opportunities for adult faith formation include Bible study, learning/discussion gatherings on faith topics, sessions for Catholics who have been away from the practice of their faith and wish to be involved again, and the city-wide Wisdom and Wine offered in the summers.

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS (RCIA)

RCIA is a process of welcoming others into our Catholic family. RCIA is a journey of faith through which persons join, or complete their initiation into, the Catholic Church. RCIA is a process intended for:

  • Anyone over the age of 7 who has not been baptized
  • Anyone who has been baptized in a different faith community but wishes to join the Catholic Church
  • Anyone who has been baptized in the Catholic Church but hasn’t received the sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation.

Attending either the 4:00 p.m., 9:00 a.m., or 11:00 Mass is a necessary part of the process.
We will also gather on Wednesday evenings for faith sharing on the upcoming Sunday Scriptures.

For more information and to begin the process, please contact Deacon Mike Ellis at 556-7511 or dbq058d@dbqarch.org.
